Okay, so you CAN play non-VR games with the Gear VR but information technology involves a few different things.
Showtime off, you need a decent PC and a good bandwidth connection to stream to the phone.
Second, at that place are softwares out there that will turn your games into 3D - the nigh inclusive one is TrinusVR <---very easy to utilise, the harder one is Tridef 3D but the results are nicer graphically.
Third, it becomes hard to control with the Gear VR, so it really depends on what the game is and what support there is.
If y'all take Stream Theatre via the SideloadVR App, endeavour that out. You need Steam on your computer as well. Pair that upwardly with head-tracking such equally FacetrackNoIR or Opentrack, you should exist set

Yes, that would exist very cool if there was a manner but if y'all recall about it from a technical perspective, yous are irresolute the game resolution on the phone to split into two screens vs. streaming content which is easier to split into Side-by-side.
I will even so keep hope, though! I know there is a manner to play Android games on your phone...lol that would exist also complicated:
Android -> to PC->stream back to telephone in 3D

I have been playing emulator games in VR since yesterday (fable of dragoon, ff9), and even watched a little vr porn.
You need to get Package DISABLER PRO. Information technology does cost $ane.95, but its more than worth it. I registered just to post this then i cant link nevertheless
Disable gear vr service, then yous can practice whatsoever you want in VR. This requires no root. Too apps that work with cardboard tin piece of work with hear vr. So in my case epsxe emulator has paper-thin support, which means gear vr Support
Thank me later similar drake

Seems you missed the betoken of my original post. I realize I tin port PC games to my phone for VR use, but I want to play games that are meant for android on my gear in the original format, just split screen for the image of a big screen directly in front end of me. And what nosotros're you talking nearly word-wrap? At that place's clearly a space betwixt all of my words. Shall I double infinite for you next time?Holy discussion-wrap Batman. Sorry, your post was very difficult to read without spaces merely I volition read slowly and endeavour once again (not to exist jerk only it was honestly difficult to read).Okay, then y'all CAN play non-VR games with the Gear VR but information technology involves a few unlike things.

Seems you missed the point of my original post. I realize I can port PC games to my phone for VR use, but I want to play games that are meant for android on my gear in the original format, only dissever screen for the epitome of a big screen straight in front of me. And what nosotros're you talking almost word-wrap? There's clearly a space between all of my words. Shall I double space for you next time?
My apologies for misunderstanding, that native SBS app seems worthy but have not tried it with a rooted device however. As for your word-space issue, I did non run across whatsoever paragraphs so the sentences were difficult to read. Practiced luck.
